Botanical families Bushcare Bushwalk on at Birdwood Gully Springwood
Tuesday 31 March @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
In this session we will explore the common native plant families of the Blue Mountains and greater Sydney bushland, and get familiar with them. This will be done in a bushwalk of the Birdwood Gully area, Springwood.
The duration of the activity will be 4 hours, with an overall walking distance of approximately 3km, on mostly constructed bush track. A consistent climb of 80m will be involved in the later part of the walk as well. A number of stops will be made throughout the walk, and we will also have lunch on the Springwood Creek.
All existing Blue Mountains Bushcare/Landcare volunteers and Bushbackyarders are welcome. You don’t need to know about botany. Whilst it generally a slow paced walk, a basic to moderate fitness level is required to the length of time walking on tracks, and the steeper uphill climb towards the end. Numbers are limited.
Attendees need to be self sufficient bushwalkers and bring their lunch, drinks.
