Free Ant ID Workshop

Tuesday 18 November, 2025 @ 9:00 am 3:30 pm

Have you ever wondered what ants are active at all our Bushcare sites? Would you like to know more about ants other than they are small, fast, busy and bite? Well, you’re in luck! Bushcare will be running an ant identification workshop for Bushcare Volunteers and Bush Backyarders on Tuesday the 18th of November guided by our very own Bushcare Officer, Sean Moore.

Ants in Australia are unique from the rest of the world, with a diverse range of ants present across our different vegetation communities in the Blue Mountains bushlands.

During this workshop we will run through the importance of ants in our ecosystems and how they contribute to ecosystem function.  We will learn about the different kinds of ants and their diverse relationships with other organisms.  You will also get the chance to have a look at ants under magnification and have a go with your own ant identification.  Participant numbers are limited to 20 so register quickly. Catered event so let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
