Putty car-camp & Privet Bash

 (Grade – Easy)

Join the Friends of the Colo for some car-based camping in delightful surroundings on private rural property. Come for the 4 days (Friday-Monday), or the weekend or just for a day. Help continue with the privet bash along nearby Putty Creek, the importance of which recently skyrocketed after our discovery of privet in the downstream wilderness. Families welcome, with short easy walks on farmland or State Forest an option for those not doing privet. Enjoy a good social around the campfire in the evenings. A BBQ may be organized for us on the Saturday night.

Mt Townsend Bend

 (Grade – Medium)

Overnight walk to the Colo River at Mount Townsend Bend, for more follow-up treatment of the cape ivy there. The walk to the river is only 2 hours, but be prepared for a steep 400 m descent/ascent, no track, and a wade across the river. Camping is on a beach, with shared camp-oven dinner. Beautiful surroundings. Limit 8.
